Connect StefanBrain to Google Sheets
Connect Google Sheets and StefanBrain can read and update the spreadsheets your marketing team already runs on. Ask about the numbers in your sheets and get answers in chat.
What connecting Google Sheets unlocks
Answers from the sheets you already keep
Budgets, trackers, and results live in spreadsheets. Ask about them in plain English and StefanBrain reads the sheet instead of making you open another tab.
Creative and copy grounded in your numbers
Copy Chief reviews and creative briefs can reference the real figures in your sheets. Your work starts from actual data instead of guesses.
Analysis over the exact range you name
Point StefanBrain at a spreadsheet, a tab, or a range and ask what the numbers say. Media buying and CRO conversations get grounded in your own tracking.
Updates by asking
StefanBrain can update spreadsheets and ranges through plain requests. Every write runs through tool permissions you control, so nothing changes without the access you granted.
How to connect
1Open Connectors and choose Google Sheets
In StefanBrain, open Connectors, find Google Sheets, and click Connect.
2Approve access on Google's authorization page
A hosted Google authorization page opens. Sign in with the Google account your team uses and approve access for StefanBrain.
3You're connected, no keys to copy
Google Sheets connects with standard OAuth sign-in, so there is no API key to hunt down or paste. Once the page closes, the connection is live.
4Ask your first question
Try asking StefanBrain to read a spreadsheet you name, or to summarize the numbers in a range you care about.
Good to know
- Access mirrors the Google account you sign in with. Connect an account that can actually open the spreadsheets your team shares.
- If your Google Workspace admin restricts third-party apps, the authorization step may need admin approval before the connection completes.
Your credentials stay yours
- We never store your passwords
- Encrypted at rest and in transit
- Disconnect anytime
Frequently asked questions
What can StefanBrain read in Google Sheets?
StefanBrain can read the spreadsheets and ranges visible to the Google account you connect. It sees only what that account's own permissions allow, so sheets you cannot open stay closed to it too.
Do I need a Google API key?
No. Google Sheets connects through OAuth, which means you sign in on Google's own authorization page and approve access there. StefanBrain never sees or stores your Google password.
Can StefanBrain change my spreadsheets without asking?
No. Updating spreadsheets and ranges is supported, but write actions are classified separately from reads. Tool permissions let you require approval or block changes entirely.
How do I disconnect Google Sheets later?
One click in Connectors removes the connection. You can also revoke StefanBrain's access from your Google account settings, which cuts access on Google's side as well.
Which Google account should I connect?
Connect the account that can open your team's shared spreadsheets, since access mirrors that login exactly. A personal account outside those shares leaves StefanBrain blind to them.
How is this different from the Google Docs connector?
Google Sheets is for spreadsheets and ranges; Google Docs is for documents. Connect the ones your team actually uses, and name the service when you ask if you connect both.
