How to connect
1Check your WordPress.com plan
This connector requires a paid WordPress.com plan with MCP enabled on the account. Confirm that before you start.
2Open Connectors and choose WordPress.com
In StefanBrain, open Connectors, find WordPress.com, and click Connect.
3Approve access on WordPress.com
A WordPress.com authorization page opens. Sign in and approve access for StefanBrain.
4Enable write tools if you want them
Read tools work right away. Write tools also need to be enabled in WordPress.com MCP settings.
5Ask your first question
Try asking for a list of your sites, or which posts drove the most traffic this month.
Good to know
- Jetpack-connected sites appear alongside your WordPress.com sites, so a self-hosted site with Jetpack MCP access works too.
- If write actions fail, check WordPress.com MCP settings first. Write tools are enabled there, separately from the connection itself.

What can StefanBrain read from WordPress.com?
Sites, posts, pages, comments, media, categories, tags, and domains, plus site settings, themes, plugins, statistics, activity, and plans. Site editor context like the active theme and design presets is available too.
How does authentication work?
WordPress.com uses OAuth. You sign in and approve access on WordPress.com's own authorization page, and StefanBrain never sees or stores your password. There are no API keys to copy.
Can StefanBrain publish or change my site?
Yes. Content authoring covers creating, updating, and deleting posts, pages, media, and more, and site management can update configuration. Write tools must be enabled in WordPress.com MCP settings, and StefanBrain's tool permissions gate every write on top of that.
Do I need a paid WordPress.com plan?
Yes. The connector requires a paid WordPress.com plan with MCP enabled on the account. Without that, StefanBrain cannot reach your sites.
Does this work with self-hosted WordPress sites?
It works with WordPress.com sites and Jetpack-connected sites on the same account. A self-hosted WordPress.org site without WordPress.com or Jetpack MCP access is not covered.
Can I disconnect later?
Yes, one click in Connectors removes access. You can also revoke StefanBrain's authorization from your WordPress.com account.
