How to connect
1Have a Contentsquare admin turn on MCP
A Customer Admin opens Analysis setup, then Model Context Protocol (MCP), in Contentsquare. To let teammates use it, the admin grants Read under Account settings, Connected apps, User access.
2Open Connectors and choose Hotjar
In StefanBrain, open Connectors, find Hotjar, and click Connect.
3Sign in to Contentsquare
StefanBrain sends you to Contentsquare's sign-in page. If your Hotjar account moved to Contentsquare, use your Hotjar email and password, then approve the access.
4Ask about your site
Back in StefanBrain, ask which projects you can see. Then ask about a funnel, a page group, or the errors hurting checkout.
Good to know
- Only Contentsquare Customer Admins can turn on MCP. Everyone else needs an admin to grant them Read access first.
- You see only the projects your Contentsquare user can already open.
- The card reads only data Contentsquare collected after your Contentsquare account was created. Your earlier Hotjar heatmaps, recordings, funnels, and dashboards stay in Hotjar, read-only for 12 months.
- Contentsquare counts analytics calls per account, and every user shares the pool: up to 300 a month on Free. Project, mapping, segment, and goal lookups are free.
- When the allowance runs out, Contentsquare stops processing new MCP requests until the limit resets at the start of the next month. Pro and Enterprise accounts can buy more.
- Funnels, journeys, comparisons, and metrics cover at most 92 days per question. Error reports need Contentsquare Experience Monitoring.

Frequently asked questions
Why does the Hotjar card sign in to Contentsquare?
Hotjar accounts are moving onto Contentsquare, and the MCP server this card uses is Contentsquare's. Hotjar users log in to Contentsquare with the same email and password they use for Hotjar.
Can StefanBrain read my recordings, heatmaps, or older Hotjar funnels?
No. Neither Hotjar nor Contentsquare offers recordings or heatmap images through an API. Your earlier Hotjar funnels and dashboards stay in Hotjar and never move to Contentsquare. StefanBrain reads Contentsquare page metrics such as scroll rate and fold height instead.
How many questions can I ask?
Contentsquare counts analytics calls for the whole account: up to 300 a month on Free, 36,000 a year on Growth, 72,000 on Pro, and 108,000 on Enterprise. Lookups of projects, mappings, segments, and goals are free.
My Hotjar account has not moved to Contentsquare yet. Can I connect?
This card needs a Contentsquare login with MCP access. Contentsquare creates that login automatically when your 30-day move begins, and MCP works during those 30 days. Until then, on Hotjar Ask Scale, the Hotjar API card reads your surveys with Hotjar API credentials.
Will StefanBrain change anything in Contentsquare?
Every tool reads, except Submit MCP Feedback, which sends Contentsquare a rating and comment about its MCP server. That one asks you first.
How do I disconnect?
One click in Connectors removes the connection from StefanBrain. A Contentsquare admin can also take away your MCP access under Account settings, Connected apps.
