How to connect
1Open Connectors and choose Semrush
In StefanBrain, open Connectors, find Semrush, and click Connect.
2Get your Semrush API key
Copy an API key from your Semrush account or developer settings.
3Enter the key in the dialog
Paste your API credentials into the connect dialog and save. StefanBrain stores the key encrypted and uses it only for your requests.
4Ask your first question
Try asking which keywords a competitor ranks for, or how your own rankings look this month. The answer comes back grounded in your Semrush data.
Good to know
- Semrush connects with an API key rather than a sign-in redirect, so access lasts until you rotate the key or disconnect.
- You can cut off access at any time by disconnecting in StefanBrain or rotating the key in your Semrush account.

What can StefanBrain read from Semrush?
Keyword, ranking, and competitor research data from your Semrush account. That data feeds chat answers, creative briefs, Copy Chief reviews, CRO analysis, and media-buying decisions wherever it is relevant. StefanBrain reads it live when you ask, not on a background sync.
Where do I find my Semrush API key?
In your Semrush account or developer settings. Copy the key there, then paste it into the connect dialog in StefanBrain. StefanBrain never asks for your Semrush password.
Can StefanBrain change anything in my Semrush account?
This connector is about reading research data: keywords, rankings, and competitors. Across the platform, any write action on any connector is gated by tool permissions you control, so nothing changes without access you granted.
Can I disconnect later?
Yes, one click in Connectors removes the stored key. Rotating or revoking the key on the Semrush side also cuts off access immediately. Nothing else in your StefanBrain workspace is affected.
How is this different from Ahrefs or Moz?
