How to connect

1Generate a Recharge API token

In Recharge, create an API token with the read_store, read_customers, read_subscriptions, and read_orders scopes. The connect dialog links Recharge's own token guide if you have not made one before.

2Open Connectors and choose Recharge

In StefanBrain, open Connectors, find Recharge, and click Connect.

3Paste the API token

The dialog asks for one thing: your Recharge API token. Paste it and click Connect.

4Ask your first question

Try asking how many active subscriptions you have, or for the recent order history of a specific customer.

Good to know

  • The token needs four read scopes: read_store, read_customers, read_subscriptions, and read_orders. StefanBrain checks them at connect time and names any that are missing.
  • StefanBrain validates the token against Recharge before saving, so a typo fails immediately instead of breaking later.
  • The connector talks to Recharge API version 2021-11, matching the developer docs linked from this page.

Your credentials stay yours

  • We never store your passwords
  • Encrypted at rest and in transit
  • Disconnect anytime

Frequently asked questions

What can StefanBrain read from Recharge?

Store settings, customers, subscriptions, and orders. Tools cover both list views with filters and single-record lookups by ID, so broad questions and specific ones both work.

Where does the API token come from?

You generate it in your Recharge account; the connect dialog links Recharge's own token guide. Give it the read_store, read_customers, read_subscriptions, and read_orders scopes. StefanBrain checks the scopes live when you connect and tells you exactly which are missing.

Can StefanBrain change my subscriptions or process refunds?

No. Every Recharge tool in StefanBrain is read-only, and the token only needs read scopes, so Recharge itself blocks writes. Across the platform, write actions on other connectors are gated by tool permissions you control.

Can I look up a single subscriber?

Yes. List Recharge Customers filters by exact email address, and the subscription and order tools filter by customer ID. That makes support-style questions about one person quick to answer.

What happens when I disconnect?

One click in Connectors removes the stored token and StefanBrain's access. For a clean break, you can also revoke or delete the API token inside Recharge.
