How to connect
1Copy your ExpertSender API key
ExpertSender uses business-unit API keys. ECDP keys come from Settings > API; EMP keys come from Settings > Unit Settings > API.
2Open Connectors and choose ExpertSender
In StefanBrain, open Connectors, find ExpertSender, and click Connect. A credential dialog opens.
3Paste at least one API key
The ECDP API key is recommended and enables customers, orders, scenario events, reference data, and segment exports. The EMP API key is optional and enables legacy custom field and custom event reads.
4Name the connection and ask a first question
Add an optional account name to label the connector card, then click Connect. Try asking for a customer profile by email.
Good to know
- At least one ExpertSender API key is required. Most teams only need the ECDP key; add the EMP key only if you still use the legacy email platform.
- Keys are scoped per business unit. Connect the unit whose customers and orders you want StefanBrain to see.

What can StefanBrain read from ExpertSender?

Where do my API keys live?
ECDP keys come from Settings > API in ExpertSender; EMP keys come from Settings > Unit Settings > API. Each key belongs to one business unit, so connect the unit you actually work in.
Can StefanBrain change data in ExpertSender?
Yes, write tools exist: upserting customers and orders, updating order status, and triggering scenario custom events. Every write action is gated by tool permissions, so you can require approval or block writes entirely.
What is the difference between ECDP and EMP here?
ECDP is ExpertSender's customer data platform and covers customers, orders, events, and exports. EMP is the legacy email platform, and this connector reads its custom fields and custom events only.
Do I need both keys?
No. One key is enough to connect. The ECDP key unlocks the bulk of the tools, so start there and add the EMP key later if you need legacy reads.
Can I disconnect later?
Yes, one click in Connectors removes the stored keys. For a clean break, also rotate or delete the API key inside ExpertSender so the old credential stops working everywhere.
