How to connect
1Turn on Foreplay's API
In Foreplay, open the API dashboard at app.foreplay.co/api-overview. If it asks, click Activate API first.
2Copy your API key
On the same page, click the copy icon to copy your key. Treat it like a password.
3Open Connectors and choose Foreplay
In StefanBrain, open Connectors, find Foreplay, and click Connect.
4Paste the key
Paste the key into the API key field and click Connect. StefanBrain checks it by reading your Foreplay credit usage, which is free, so connecting spends no credits.
5Ask your first question
Try asking for the longest-running ads in your niche, or what a competitor launched this week.
Good to know
- Every Foreplay tool only reads. StefanBrain cannot save ads, make boards, or track new brands in your Foreplay account.
- Foreplay charges API credits: 1 credit for each ad a tool returns, and 1 for each brand lookup. Usage checks, empty answers, and errors are free.
- Most Foreplay plans include 10,000 API credits a month, and Foreplay sells bigger credit packs. Unused credits do not carry over.
- The Lens tools start switched off. Foreplay serves Lens data only to its own sign-in for Claude and ChatGPT, and it refuses an API key.
- The display tools start off too. They draw Foreplay's own widgets, which StefanBrain does not show, so chat answers in text instead.

Frequently asked questions
Where do I find my Foreplay API key?
In Foreplay's API dashboard at app.foreplay.co/api-overview. Click the copy icon there. If the page asks you to activate the API, do that first.
Does connecting or asking a question cost credits?
Connecting costs nothing, because StefanBrain checks your key by reading your credit usage, which Foreplay does not charge for. Searches and ad lookups spend credits, 1 for each ad returned.
Which Foreplay plans work?
Your account needs active API access. Foreplay's help center says every current plan except legacy plans includes it, while its pricing page lists it on Workflow and Agency. If your account has no API access, StefanBrain tells you to click Activate API at app.foreplay.co/api-overview.
Can StefanBrain change anything in my Foreplay account?
No. Foreplay's API only reads, so every tool is a read. You can still switch off any tool in the connector's permissions.
Why are the Lens tools switched off?
Foreplay answers Lens requests only for its own Claude and ChatGPT sign-in, and refuses an API key. For your own ad account results, use the Meta connector.
Can I disconnect later?
Yes. One click in Connectors removes the connection, and StefanBrain stops using the key.
